Promoting social and environmental sustainability

As a division of C.H. Robinson, one of the world’s largest logistics platforms, we are dedicated to sustainability. Whether in our offices, with customers, or for suppliers, we encourage sustainability across communities and around the world.

As part of C.H. Robinson’s sustainability goals, Robinson Fresh has committed to reducing our carbon footprint intensity by 40% in the next five years. Our work developing and implementing sustainable solutions spans across the fresh produce supply chain. We will find energy efficiencies within our facilities, leverage renewable energy, invest in renewable energy certificates (RECs), and participate in offset projects to reach our sustainability goals.

Supporting growers with Fair Trade Certified™ produce

We offer a number of fair trade products in collaboration with growers. When you choose our Fair Trade Certified produce, you’re voting with your dollar. Ultimately, fair trade products support income sustainability, worker empowerment, community development, and environmental stewardship. Through the unique Fair Trade Community Development Fund, workers can address local needs so that their families and children can thrive for generations to come.

Working closely with Apeel™ to reduce food waste

With Apeel, we offer products with two to three times the shelf life for organic and conventional products. This provides benefits to growers, packers, distributors, and retailers—especially as it’s the only plant-derived, end-to-end solution of its kind. Apeel adds a layer of plant-derived protection to the surface of fresh produce to slow water loss and oxidation—factors that cause spoilage. This dramatically cuts waste and offers premium products to shoppers and their families.
